Our Services

Tahoma Indian Center is located in Tacoma, Washington on the Puyallup Reservation, and offers the following services weekly:

Self-Service Laundry

9 AM to 12 PM

Lunch Service

11 AM to 1 PM

Computer/Phone/Fax/Printer

9 AM to 2 PM

Food & Clothing Bank

9 AM to 2 PM

Mail

9 AM to 2 PM

We also engage relatives around traditional spiritual and cultural activities, and offer a safe gathering place for activities and events related not only to Homeless Services, but to Culture, Wellness & Food Sovereignty as well. These activities may be found on our Events page or are listed in the table above with an asterisk.

Homeless Services

We serve hot meals, provide laundry, clothing bank and communication access

Culture

We hold cultural activities with resident elders such as wood carving, cedar weaving; and wellness activities like first foods, self defense and host LGBTQ2S+ youth groups

Wellness Activities

We offer first foods, self defense classes, and youth programming, Additionally,

Canoe Journey Herbalists (CJH) partner with the Tahoma Indian Center to provide herbal care and traditional healing to our Indigenous relatives every Monday from 9-1pm.

with no cost and low barrier care in the form of; hot herbal Tea, weekly herbal medicine giveaways, herbal footbaths and foot care, wound care and 1st aid triaging, 1 on 1 herbal consultations + acu detox

Food Sovereignty & Advocacy For Important Resources

We advocate for culturally important resources such as huckleberries and plant medicines, stewardship and access for Native people
